In the middle of moving and practically changing everything in our lives, I shot the most wonderful wedding. It was extra special because I had the privilege of shooting the bride years ago when she was a senior in high school. I love this part of my job...watching people become who they are...it's pretty great. Special thanks to Gwen Rosowski for being the best 2nd shooter anyone could ask for. And thank you to the Bride and Groom and their wonderful family and friends for being super sweet on the big day, and for being patient with me while I make some big life changes. :) You are all amazing and I am so thankful!
After living in Colorado for 14 years, we are onto the phase of our lives...in Connecticut! We will be settled in a few weeks and then life gets back to some kind of new normal. Adventures are good.
It was so easy hanging out with this couple...their love was sweet and fun...and it warmed us all up on this cold cold morning. Thanks for hanging with me!
Can we show more kindness, more love, more peace, more grace?
It's such a busy time of year! My eye has been twitching for a week. I've had our Christmas tree up for a week, but haven't had the time to decorate it. It's a season of half-finished projects, presents to be wrapped, so much work to be done, and for us, the stress of college decisions for our daughter....sometimes it feels like too much. Scattered in a million directions, finishing nothing.
But here's the thing...we are not projects to be completed. Those are just things, swirling about. Sometimes they go well, sometimes they don't. But they don't define us. We are so much more. Today, I'm setting my intention to take a moment...to appreciate the love and beauty that is all around....to calm the frick down and breathe. What can I put out into the world today? Stress and anxiety? Or love and kindness? It will probably be a combination of it all, but I will focus on the love and kindness part.
I meant to post this yesterday! Poo! Anyway, I want to thank all of you...you are pure awesomeness. I feel so lucky to have the most amazing friends and fans of my art. Thank you thank you thank you!
If you are local (in or near Colorado Springs, CO), I'd love to have you join me at Painting with a Twist either on Saturday or Sunday afternoon. I'm teaching the cutest paintings! Come, hang out, drink some wine, and unwind for a few hours. How great does that sound!!!!
So much has been happening in the last few weeks! Our son moved into his first apartment, I moved my office and studio into his old room, threw my back out, painted a large abstract piece, painted a few cats, started training at Painting with a Twist where I will be teaching classes a few times a week in our quaint downtown in Colorado Springs (it's actually especially quaint right now because there are Christmas lights up everywhere! Yay!) and have had a ton of requests for artwork from people around the world. I'm trying to sort through and get organized...I'm on Etsy, Society6, Fine Art America, and now my new website...it's a lot to manage. And I just like to paint! haha! So bear (bare? bear? neither look right!) with me while I get my sh*t together. :)
I also just illustrated my husband's latest novel, a young adult contemporary fantasy book, "Kelvin the Elven"...coming out soon. Click here to go to the Chris Walters author page on Facebook to stay up to date with all his latest writings. :) ya, he's pretty awesome, right?!
Stuff coming soon here! Woohoo!
